The Ministry of Economy, through Data Mexico, analyzed and made public the data on the employment of Accountants and Auditors during the Second Quarter of this, soon to end, 2023.

General data and salaries of Accountants and Auditors in 2023

The workforce of Accountants and Auditors was 470,000 people. Their average salary is $7.67k MX working around 40 hours a week.

The average age of Accountants and Auditors was 42 years old.

In terms of gender, the labor force was distributed in 51.6% men with an average salary of $7.95k MX and 48.4% women with an average salary of $7.37k MX.

Salaries by region for Accountants and Auditors in 2023

The best average salaries received by Accountants and Auditors were in:

  • Tamaulipas ($14.5k MX)
  • Quintana Roo ($14k MX)
  • Durango ($12.9k MX)

While the largest number of workers engaged in accounting and authoring are based in:

This is a very interesting item, because in terms of industries, the best average salaries were in:

  • Architectural, Engineering and Related Activities ($30k MX)
  • Unspecified ($27.4k MX)

While the largest number of workers was concentrated in these industries:

  • Legal Services (189k)
  • Regulation and Promotion of Economic Development (5.36%)
  • Retail Trade of Automobiles and Light Trucks (13.5k)

Informal" workers in Accounting and Auditing

Informal work or employment includes all paid work (both self-employment and salaried employment) that is not registered, regulated or protected by legal or regulatory frameworks.

But also unpaid work carried out in an income-generating enterprise.

Informal workers do not have employment contracts, labor benefits, social security, among others.

Of the total number of informal workers, 53.2% are women with an average salary of $3.22k MX and 46.8% are men with an average salary of $5.65k MX.

At the state level, Tlaxcala had the highest percentage of informal workers with 39.3% corresponding to 1.56k out of 3.96k workers, while the state with the lowest percentage of informal workers was Michoacán, with 0.98% corresponding to 113 out of 11.5k workers.
