Modifications to ISR 2023 - Zentric
As a consequence of the 2022 inflation, the SAT made modifications to the ISR tables for 2023, which also impacts payroll.

We have already talked about the fact that when there is a rise in inflation that exceeds 10%, the Tax Administration Service ( SAT) adjusts the Income Tax (ISR) table.

Well, in 2023 this tax will be lower.

The income tax tables serve as the basis for calculating the income tax rate.

Cumulative inflation was 15.31% at the end of 2021 to November 2022, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) calculator.

That is why the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit decided to make the modification.

Of course, as of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), workers will receive "a bonus in their paychecks" because they will have a lower income tax withholding

The result of the ISR in each case, will be given after calculating the salary of the employees in the country and the table released by the SAT. For example:

  • Workers who receive up to $746.04 pesos per month will have a withholding tax of 1.92%.
  • Those earning up to $6,332.50 will see a withholding of 6.40%.
  • 10.88% withholding for those earning less than $11,128.01 per month.
  • 16% for those earning up to $12,935.82 pesos.

The decrease will be reflected in the decrease of workers in the private sector, the public sector, and individuals with professional and business activities.

As well as those who have one or more properties for rent or income from technological platforms, among others.
