We have already discussed the increase in the number of paid vacation days, its importance and even made the calculations of how much it would cost your payroll as of this reform.
It seemed like the whole thing was moving along steadily, but today, October 21, we have an update.
The Senate of the Republic requested to delay the discussion in order to carry out a deeper and more complete analysis of the issue.
As will be recalled, last October 12, this opinion was unanimously approved at the Federal Labor Law.
This was listed in the plenary session of Tuesday, October 18, to be declared there and then for publication, but this did not happen.
The "standstill" comes after the Employers' Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) proposed to senators that in 2023 the paid vacation day be increased to 9 days for the first year worked.
And until 2024 to reach the 12 days established by the reform.
In addition, the employers' sector states that:
"The period of uninterrupted vacation leave should remain at six days and six days, and not be increased to 12 in a single exhibition. This is impractical for all companies and even for the workers themselves."
Lastly, the businessmen also requested that the reform should come into effect as of 2023, so that companies can prepare for it.
