We can't deny it, we all get excited when we plan and request vacations from our jobs. Give ourselves a break and enjoy a few days to ourselves.
In Mexico, all employees who have signed a contract with a company are entitled to a benefit called vacation bonus.
The Federal LaborLaw (LFT) states that employees are entitled to this right from their first day of work (as well as the "Christmas bonus"). Christmas bonus and the payment of utilities).
But more details will follow.
Who is entitled to this benefit?
By law, all employees who comply with these points are entitled to the vacation bonus:
- Sign a contract with a company
- Have worked for one year from the date of admission
An important point to mention is that the benefit was increased as of January of this year with the changes in the LFT, so employees have double the number of days available in their vacation period.
How much is the vacation bonus?
The vacation bonus is calculated at 25% of each employee's salary.
To find out how much it equals, it must be multiplied:
Daily salary (the one shown on the payroll receipt) X Vacation days indicated in the employee's contract X 0.25, the result is the total vacation premium.
When is the vacation bonus paid?
In accordance with Federal Law, the payment would have to be given for employees to use during their vacations.
But many companies pay it annually, close to the end of the year of employment established in the contract.
This benefit must appear on the payroll receipt as part of the vacation bonus payment.
